According to Statista, the cybersecurity market revenue is projected to reach $166.20 billion by the end of this year. A number this large signifies an ever-rising demand for privacy and security online. There are many tools for that: VPNs, antivirus software, proxies, and antidetect browsers. In today’s article, we’ll be exploring the latter and comparing AdsPower and Multilogin – two popular antidetect browsers in terms of their pricing, features, and more.

What is an anti-detect browser?

Before getting into the comparison between AdsPower and Multilogin, let’s define what antidetect browsers are so it all makes more sense later down the line.

Antidetect browsers are specialized web browsers designed to enhance online anonymity and security.  These browsers use technologies like data spoofing and their own digital browser fingerprints, providing internet users with more privacy. As a result, it’s harder for websites, advertisers, and other 3rd parties to identify and profile users based on their browsing habits.

What’s interesting about antidetect browsers is that they’re used by both regular internet users and marketing professionals. It allows marketers to manage several social media accounts, access geo-restricted websites, and more.

AdsPower vs. Multilogin 2024: direct comparison

Both AdsPower and Multilogin made it to our best antidetect browser list, making either of them a solid choice. To help you make the final verdict, we’re going to review both of these antidetect browsers based on several factors. Let’s begin.

1) Pricing

AdsPower offers four pricing plans

  1. Free plan for 2 profiles.

  2. Base: $5.4/month for 10 browser profiles, real-person support, and profile sharing.

  3. Pro: $30/month for 100 profiles and automatic proxy matching.

  4. Customized: custom number of profiles and dedicated professional assistance.

Also, AdsPower offers -40% off any plan if you pay annually.

All of the plans include features like a Firefox engine-based browser, browser fingerprint control, profile sync across your computers and account import via login/password or cookies, and proxy integration.

Meanwhile, Multilogin offers these pricing options:

  1. Solo: €99/month, 100 locally and cloud-stored browser profiles, no team member seats available.

  2. Team: €199/month, 300 locally and cloud-stored browser profiles, 3 team member seats available.

  3. Scale: €399/month, 1000 locally and cloud-stored browser profiles, 7 team member seats available.

If you choose to pay annually, you’ll get 25% off any of the plans.

Standard features available for all plans: Mimic and Stealthfox privacy browsers, custom browser fingerprints, proxy integration, open API and knowledge center, browser automation with Playwright (Mimic only), Selenium Hardened and Puppeteer Hardened, and live support.

It is evident that the price is strongly influenced by the number of profiles a lot– the bigger the number, the more expensive the plan.

To sum up, in comparison to AdsPower, Multilogin offers bigger-scale pricing plans for larger projects.

2) Platform compatibility

Both AdsPower and Multilogin antidetect browsers support Windows and macOS; also, Multilogin supports Linux.

3) Resource consumption

When it comes to resource consumption, AdsPower is known to be less intensive than Multilogin. If we’re talking numbers, for AdsPower, you’ll need at least 2GB RAM. Whereas to use Multilogin, you’ll need twice as much – 4GB RAM.

4) Unique solutions and features

AdsPower:

  • Free plan

  • Custom profile number

  • 40% off if you pay annually

  • Mobile environment simulation (for iOS and Android)

  • Compatible with your own or 3rd party extensions

  • RPA robot for task automation

  • Extensions menu available

  • Local API for web automation

Multilogin

  • Open API and knowledge center

  • Supports Firefox and Chrome browser extensions

  • Local API for web automation

5) Data security and privacy

When it comes to antidetect browsers, naturally, customers are going to prioritize security and privacy. Let’s investigate and compare the level of security provided by either of these browsers.

AdsPower security

In its Privacy Policy, AdsPower states that it has no way of identifying users and their actions are anonymous. However, they may need some of your information that may be considered private for standard measures (e.g., user authentication.)

AdsPower also mentions that “the security of User’s information is our utmost priority.” They use physical, technical, and administrative security measures, for example, firewalls, encryption technology, and other automated software designed to protect against fraud and identity theft.

According to their policy, AdsPower data is only stored in centers that provide high-level security for user information. Finally, the company seeks to minimize the amount of sensitive data that we store on our servers in the first place.

Multilogin security

According to Multilogin, they have a “paranoid-level security system.”

First off, Multilogin hashes its customers’ passwords, meaning they’re encrypted and never transmitted to Multilogin’s servers as plain text.

Secondly, Multilogin uses the AES cipher to protect customer account data. Before sending the cookies to the cloud storage, each session is individually encrypted with a master password; hence, the stored information is made unreadable to potential hackers.

Finally, if the user stops using Multilogin, all the data gets deleted 3 months after the subscription is terminated.

6) Anti-fingerprinting technology

It comes as no surprise that the anti-fingerprinting technology is the cornerstone of any antidetect browser. With antidetect browsers automatically changing various parameters (IP address, user agent, etc.), you can carry out repetitive tasks without websites suspecting suspicious activity.

Fortunately, both AdsPower and Multilogin offer their own custom-built antidetect browsers.

Multilogin has custom browsers, Mimic and Stealthfox – with them, you can generate unique fingerprints for multiple profiles.

AdsPower offers their own custom, Chromium-based browser, conveniently named AdsPower Browser. When asked how strong their anti-fingerprinting technology is via their AI Search, AdsPower said it is not specified. They also mention that the effectiveness of anti-fingerprinting technology depends on various factors, such as the specific implementation and the ever-growing nature of online tracking techniques.

7) Browser fingerprinting customization

Multilogin allows you to use their pre-made browser fingerprints or customize your own based on their needs. You can adjust fingerprints by editing a variety of parameters via the Advanced browser parameters of the Multilogin app.

The parameters include geolocation, media devices, time zones, potentially vulnerable browser plugins, and more. Additional settings feature Active session lock, Google services, Custom DNS, and port scan protection.

Likewise, you can create a custom fingerprint with Adspower by selecting the browser type, operating system, hardware characteristics, and more. However, AdsPower doesn’t support multiple fingerprint configurations. You can only save one profile template, and it’ll be applied every time you create profiles.

8) Usability and interface

AdsPower describes itself as an easy-to-use, customer-friendly platform. The all-in-one dashboard allows you to create a new profile and check available profiles or the number of users, manage the team members and their permissions.

Compared to AdsPower, Multilogin has a much cleaner, less busy interface. That’s to be expected – freemium tools such as AdsPower usually have prompts, overlays, and buttons that can distract you from the core experience.

On the other hand, some antidetect browsers allow showing not only when a profile was last modified but also when it was launched, which Multilogin doesn’t have. Also, while you can attach notes to a profile, there’s no way to see at a glance whether a profile has a note added to it.

9) Use cases

In essence, both AdsPower and Multilogin serve the same use cases. Let’s take a closer look at each one.

  • Enhanced privacy. Regular people typically use antidetect browsers for better security and privacy. Most want to prevent websites, advertisers, or third-party trackers from collecting information about their online activities.

  • Managing multiple accounts. Antidetect browsers are often used for managing multiple accounts on social media or control merchant profiles on e-commerce platforms.

  • Bypassing online geo-restrictions. Antidetect browsers allow you to circumvent geographical restrictions., Ttherefore, you can create multiple accounts and target different regions.

  • Web scraping and automation. Web scraping tools (e.g., proxies or APIs) are sometimes paired with antidetect browsers. With anti-bot services getting more and more sophisticated, people who use web scraping start looking for out-of-the-box solutions, like using proxies and anti-detect browsers together. We have both AdsPower proxy and Multilogin proxy integration guides for your convenience.

10) Reputation and reviews

On Trustpilot, AdsPower boasts a strong 4.7-star rating based on 200+ reviews. On the G2 platform, AdsPower app has a 4.7-star rating out of 10+ reviews.

In particular, customers point out exceptional support, affordability, and the high quality of the product itself. On the flip side, users mentioned they wish they could synchronize their personal settings with team members. A couple also commented that the Adspowerthat Adspower app has no classification in the application center, making it difficult to find what you need.

Likewise, Multilogin is present on the Trustpilot and G2 platforms. On Trustpilot, Multilogin is rated 4.4 out of 50+ reviews, while on G2, it has a 4.8 rating from 10+ reviews.

Specifically, users say the quality of the product is top-notch and the customer support is professional and helpful. On the other hand, some complain about the billing system, invoice management, and some minor bugs.

Wrapping up

All in all, AdsPower and Multilogin share the same purpose and functionalities: providing internet users with more privacy, helping with web automation and multi-account management. The main differences lay in pricing, resource consumption, and the interface.

AdsPower is a less expensive and beginner-friendly platform. Meanwhile, Multilogin is on the pricier side and is designed for more experienced users. Nonetheless, both are great, reliable services with many positive reviews online, so you can’t really go wrong!

Bottom line

As you can see, Multilogin and Multilogin share almost the same features and serve similar purposes, helping manage multiple accounts and web automation. However, they differ in pricing, operating system compatibility, data security approach, usability, and customer experience.

Multilogin appears to be a more budget-friendly option with a straightforward interface and free trial available. However, it might lack consistency and get buggy at times. Multilogin, in contrast, is a more premium pick with higher pricing but offers broader functionality and better data security.
